Learning From The Tubeworm About Turning A Crisis Into An Opportunity

On a recent visit to Rocky Mountain Biological Lab, which in the summer is a hive of activity by some of the most fabulous ecological researchers like Paul Ehrlich and John Harte, Mary Price, and Dan Blumstein (an EVTOL editor), I had the good fortune to run into one of my favorite environmental writers, Michelle Nijhuis. Here is her report on our conversations about adaptability, symbiosis, and how it relates to what she learned about the coming water crisis (or is it the “coming water opportunity?”) at this year’s Aspen Environmental Forum:
